Tips For Making Your Experience At Airports Easier
Because of current regulations and security protocols, air travel can be a huge hassle. Checking in for your flight, standing in line and going by security, and waiting at the gate and boarding the plane can seem like a never ending course of action. Fortunately, as long as you follow a few simple tips, making your way around airports does not have to be a stressful course of action.
One of the easiest ways to reduce stress at airports is to do as much as possible ahead of time. This method you should check in for your flight in improvement. Most airlines allow you to check in online up to 24 hours before the flight and print out your boarding pass in improvement, which will eliminate waiting in line to check in once you get to the airport. If you dont have a way to print out the boarding pass, many airports accept mobile boarding passes. You can show a copy of the boarding pass on your cell phone and TSA agents will simply examine the barcode, just like they would if you had a regular paper boarding pass.
Another meaningful tip for making your time at airports easier is to understand the security protocols and be prepared for them before you get to the front of the security line. Most places require that you take your shoes, belt, and jewelry off, remove your laptop from your luggage, and put any liquids into a quart-size Ziploc bag. Ideally, you should have your laptop and bag of liquids ready when you get near the front of the security line so that you dont keep up up the people behind you while struggling to take everything out of your bag. If you are wearing a heavy winter jacket, you will have to take that off in addition. Additionally, you cannot carry any liquids in a container larger than three ounces. If you do, TSA agents may confiscate the liquid.
Once you get by security, you will have to wait at the gate until its time to board the plane. To make sure you have enough time to make it by security without missing your flight, you should try to get there at the minimum an hour before your flight. When flying out of larger airports with more departing flights, you may need to get there slightly earlier. If you fly out of the same place often, you will soon learn how they function and how much time you will need to make it by security without being rushed.
After you board the plane, try to quickly put your carry-on luggage into the overhead bin and sit down so you dont keep up up the passengers behind you. The same goes for getting off the plane once it lands. Waiting for people who are taking too long while getting their luggage can be very irritating, especially for those who have to catch a connecting flight, so its best to grab your lugging quickly and leave the plane in an orderly, efficient fact so that no one has to wait too long.
